Signed Stories

These stories, read aloud from the site, feature online text, images, and a human being signing the story. The combination of these four elements (voice, text, image, signing) can greatly aid ELLs in building both comprehension and fluency. You may wish to read the site's own statement on using the stories with English Language Learners.

StoryLine Online

Better known than Signed Stories, StoryLine Online features famous actors and actresses reading aloud from favorite picture books. Again, great for comprehension and fluency (very emotive readings!) Related activities are available for each story.
